Whole30 Week 1 in Review

So if you follow me on any sort of social media you know I started the Whole30 this past Monday. It’s been something I’ve been interested in for a long time but never really thought I could do. If you want to learn more about what a Whole30 is and why I am doing it, check out this post!

I’m really excited to tell ya’ll about this past week, i’m keeping a journal and plan to make a printable Whole30 planner by the time i’m done with mine! Anyways, let’s just jump right in shall we?!

Monday:

I woke up this morning excited but a little freaked out by the commitment I just made too. I made a frittata for breakfast and ate it for lunch too haha! I just started working part time this past week as well and I was trying to make sure I did things super simple so I didn’t get too frustrated and want to quit. I worked today and went to my bff’s (who is also doing this with me but she has done a few of them) for the kids to hang out! She fed me dinner – chicken chili! So yum!

Tuesday:

I woke up so HUNGRY!! I had leftover frittata and avocado for breakfast and a tangerine. I was super energetic and happy today too. Lunch was pot roast with carrots and sweet potatoes and an apple. Dinner was chicken kabobs on a salad and banana and apple chopped up with coconut milk and cinnamon over it. I had coffee with coconut milk and turmeric tea with coconut milk as well today.

Wednesday:

I had horrible dreams!! Woke up feeling super crappy due to them. Pretty sure it was PMS! Breakfast was roast with veggies and a banana with almond butter. Lunch was tuna, 1/2 avocado, banana and pistachios. ( I just realized how much fat that was!) Dinner I didn’t write down LOL but I had burgers planned! I had 1/2 caff coffee with coconut milk.

Thursday:

I felt great when I woke up this am but had cranky moments throughout the day. Major gut issues today (again thinking pms) but I had good energy. Getting much easier to wake up in the am. I did notice today that my skin tone is SO MUCH BETTER. Normally when I get out of the shower my face is red and splotchy no matter what I wash my face with. It isn’t like that at.all.now. Like seriously at all! Breakfast was eggs, asparagus-mushroom-onion, 1/2 avocado, sweet potato. Lunch was chicken salad. We weren’t home for most of the day so my options were limited. I had a larabar and babyfood pouch. Dinner was Banger Sausage (from the book) sweet potato and green beans. I had a kombucha  and a green tea as well. Great energy today as well.

Friday:

Woke up feeling so good today! Woke up super early with my youngest but it is so easy to wake up now! I don’t feel like I need to stay in bed! I can’t remember the last time I felt like this! Breakfast was sausage, boiled egg, leftover veggies. Snack was a larabar and some fruit at MOPs. My car ended up having some issues so I got super stressed about it and started craving anything and everything and ate more larabar’s then I should have haha!

Saturday:

SUPER tired! Like all day. Fell asleep super early while watching TV with hubs. I worked today and was just meh all day. Breakfast was apple, tuna w/ salad-tomatoes and spicy mustard ( didn’t even finish it all. Lunch was leftover breakfast w/ green beans, boiled egg and olives. Dinner was wings made by my amazing man and some homemade whole30 approved ranch and a lacroix. Went grocery shopping for week2!

So that was my week in a nutshell. I’m finding the whole30 timeline is pretty true for me but there was also some hormonal stuff thrown in their which I think is why I was exhausted not just tired haha. All in all it was a good week and I am darn proud of myself for making it this far. It’s hard. Not hard hard but it’s not the easiest thing in the world to completely cut out certain foods for 30 days. It isn’t just taking foods out to see what they do to my body, it’s also changing the way I look at food and my relationship with it. I did have to stop telling myself that “I can’t have this” because it was starting to make my brain pissed off adn I was dreaming I was eating off plan and it was making me wake up feeling guilty and confused. Once I changed to saying that “I am choosing not to have these foods so I can heal my body and find balance and health” I stopped having those dreams and felt much better about what I’m doing. I still want coffee with real cream or pizza but the cravings are lessening!

If you are doing a whole30 right now or have done on I’d love to hear about it in the comments below! Don’t forget to follow me on social media so you can see what’s up everyday! Should I vlog some this week?????
