Whole30 Week 2 In Review

Hey y’all! It’s day 15 and I just can’t believe it. I’m half way through and i’m so happy i’m doing this!! Whole30 Week 2 was pretty good-full of yummy food and breakthrough’s!

Day 8

Breakfast: 2 egg muffins, sauteed spinach, and home fries with homemade ranch and hot sauce. Lunch:  for some reason I didn’t write down lunch. I think I may have actually forgotten to eat lunch this day                                                                                                                                                           Dinner: Chicken with cucumber and avocado dressing and a sweet potato.                                           Notes: headache STILL here. Cucumber causes acid reflux issues for me.

Day 9

Breakfast: egg muffins with avocado dressing, cucumber and 2 clementines                                     Lunch: salad with chicken, olives, and mushrooms                                                                                  Dinner: small bowl of ground beef with spaghetti squash and sauteed  onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and mixed greens. Hosted my sons bday party at chuck e cheese and it was surprisingly easy to stay compliant and everyone was super supportive. Had a larabar and a kombucha while there so that helped 🙂

Day 10

Breakfast: coffee with coconut milk, apple, mixed nuts, egg muffins (seriously Katrina?! stop the caffeine..HELLO ANXIETY!                                                                                                                            Lunch: leftover spaghetti squash, ground  beef, avocado and olive oil.                                                      Snack: kombucha and larabar                                                                                                                     Dinner: same as lunch with chicken and a la croix

Day 11

Super crabby and tired today. still have a headache.                                                                                        Breakfast: egg muffins with hot sauce and avocado dressing                                                                       lunch: tuna with homemade mayo and tomato mushrooms and and apple                                               Dinner: ummmm didn’t write dinner down lol what did I do this week?!

Day 12

Finally no headache today!!! wildly energetic too!                                                                                            Breakfast:                                                                                                                                                                  Lunch: leftovers                                                                                                                                           Dinner: chipotle!!! Carnitas salad with green chili and guac

Day 13

Breakfast: Boiled eggs, chia pudding and a banana                                                                                           Lunch: (work went longer than expected) rx bar and kombucha                                                                 Dinner: large chicken salad with homemade mayo

Day 14

Breakfast: a handful of nuts and an rx bar (my son woke up sick and it was just a crazy morning)       Lunch: pepperoni (it was compliant and we were out and running like crazy) I did buy some veggies to eat but they weren’t compliant                                                                                                                     Dinner: 2 fried eggs, spinach, salsa and guac, and a sweet potato with coconut oil

I had a few crazy moments this week, obvi. I stayed compliant though! All in all I am definitely feeling better-more energy and stable blood sugar. It’s actually super easy to wake up in the morning and I don’t want to just stay in the bed. At this point i’m not sure when or how I am going to do my reintroduction. I think I may want to keep going and do another week or 2 or maybe more. I know once the kids start their spring sports back up it will be a little tougher so I will probably do my reintroduction before that. I have a feeling a will still largely be eating the way I am right now with a few things sprinkled back in. That’s what I’m loving about this, the FREEDOM, that comes with it. Freedom from cravings, and food addictions. Freedom from using containers, or calorie counters. I will admit that I am afraid that I’m not losing weight right now, I’m trying to not focus on that right now. Yes I do need to lose weight but my main focus is health. I know if I’m doing the things that are healthy for my body I will eventually be at a healthy weight for my body. I will say I may not have had as many cravings at the end of this week but the convenience of ordering take out or going to pick something up is something I miss haha, but that is just another area where I am glad I am learning to not be dependent on things.
